8bitdo SN30 Pro Plus Controller Review
Mon Dec 30, 2019

I decided I needed to get a controller for playing games with, and I got an 8bitdo SN30 Pro Plus. This is kinda a review of it, but I'm not going to go in depth, it's more just my thoughts.

Mostly, it's a lot like a Dualshock 4. If you hate the DS4 you're going to hate the SN30 Pro Plus and if you love the DS4 you're probably going to love it. The analog sticks and triggers feel just like the dualshock, and the grip is very similar. The start and select buttons are weird rubbery things like on older nintendo controllers (which makes sense given the lineage of the SN30 pro plus). The D-pad also feels quite old nintendo-ish, which to me is a bad thing, I much prefer the DS4. The face buttons feel as you'd expect average controller face buttons to feel.

It's well built and feels high quality, and I haven't had any issues with it playing any games. It's comfortable for retro gaming but also for modern 3D games and even games that need precise analog control (I've been playing DiRT Rally with it and I haven't had any issues). For some reason the gyro controls don't work on PC which is a bit annoying.

Overall though, I don't have much to say about it, it's just a controller. But a pretty nice one, and worth the price.
